Advertisements with Labels

Did a look around adfreak.com adland.com amongst other advertising sites and found a few nice ads with the theme of a Label.

I liked the wit and use of colour in this ad. EAT YOUR GREENS. You would think they were referring to vegetables but it actually referred to the GREEN lights labelled on food. So far there have been three complaints about the Rustic Oven Chips ad claiming that it is misleading because potatoes do not count towards the required five portions of fruit and vegetables and do not count as “greens”. McCain’s is launching this upmarket premium brand to try and resurrect the failing french fry industry now that people have started to understand more about healthy diets. They say that their new Rustic Oven Chips are the only ones to score “green” on all four counts: low in fat, saturates, sugar and salt.

It seems like the advertisement did not go down too well with the tube commuters who found it difficult to digest. (I think I am improving on the food puns)

One of the ads which I thought the use of a nutritional label was aptly used can be seen all the way at the bottom. With the nutritional label re-appropriated to deliver a message on a starving child perhaps? I am unable to translate the original language on the poster.

Greenpeace

Taken from http://www.behance.net/Gallery/GREENPEACE/85081 Love the simplicity of the imagery and messsaging. The copy to the ad was also nicely placed into a label looking graphic.

Brief: To tell consumers about genetically modified plants problem.

Copy: Do you know what you eat? The DNA of genetically modified plants may contain the genes of insects, animals or even viruses. These products may potentially cause harm to your health. Look for GMD free sign on the package.

Agency: BBDO Moscow
Brand: Greenpeace

  1. HELLO.你好.✌ » Archive » Cheated by a Label?

[...] Moving on from the last post where I explored more ideas, http://hello.iampingpong.com/?p=1385, I decided to work with the headline of ‘I Was Cheated by a Label’. Label referring to food labeling of course and not to be confused with labels in the form of fashion labels or stereotypes, I would have to make sure I stay clear of those issues as I do not want to complicate my campaign. I liked what I saw from the research I did found at http://hello.iampingpong.com/?p=1412 [...]
